Hard work and commitment have rewarded Mars Pucay over the past few years. He says working on his short game in particular has led to a string of fine performances.
In 2007 he claimed two titles on the Mercedes-Benz Tour and finished the year leading the money list. He won the Mercedes-Benz Masters Vietnam and the Mt. Malarayat Championship on home soil.
His form on the Mercedes-Benz Tour gave him the confidence to make his mark on the Asian Tour for the first time. In 2008 with three top-five finishes and two other top-10s to finish in 54th place on the Order of Merit and earn his full card for the 2009 season.
He was tied third in the Pertamina Indonesia President Invitational and equal fourth in the Worldwide Selangor Masters and Macau Open. He also enjoyed a tied 10th finish in the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China with partner Angelo Que.
Pucay, whose full first name is Marciano, has played on the Asian Tour since the mid-1990s. He has also qualified for the World Cup with Felix Casas in 1999.
